Hampi, located in the Indian state of Karnataka, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was once a thriving city for over two centuries from the 13th to the 16th century. The ruins of Hampi have been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has been inscribed as a mixed cultural heritage site, as well as an Indian architectural and archaeological site.
The reign of Hindu King Krishnadevaraya marked the most prosperous era of Hampi.
